I'm a research staff at
IBM T.J.
Watson Research Center and a member of Cloud Management Services group.
Previously, I was a member of the Messaging and Event Systems group.
I am interested in designing and building software systems supporting user
mobility. My research interests include distributed file systems for mobile
users, analysis of wireless network traces, modeling of user mobility, and
location-sensing technologies for pervasive computing.
I received my B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science & Engineering from Seoul National University. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan
in 2004 with Prof. Brian Noble as my adviser. For the two
years after receiving my Ph.D., I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow with
Prof. David
Kotz in the Department of Computer Science at Dartmouth
College. During the summer of 2006, I worked as a research associate
at the Institute for Security Technology Studies (ISTS) at Dartmouth College.
